Education - What we have embarked upon.
This school was off grid, it now has solar power as well as potable water after the installation of water purification system that makes ground water potable.
Around 800 children attend this school, they belong to a segment of society that is far below the poverty line. Now atleast fifty percent of the students get one full meal in the day. Efforts are being made to be able to feed all 800 students.
Constructing a purpose built school
We have also embarked on a venture to construct a school with 'The Citizens Foundation'. You can help us construct this school by helping us fundraise and donating as well as by sharing the fundraising link with your friends and family to help this cause.
The school once completed would educate on average around 180 students and have 8 to 10 teacher or staff. We strive for an educated community which unites for a better future for these children.
In the first phase we need to raise 200,000 US Dollars or 270,000 CAD Dollars to construct the school. The challenge is to try and raise the funds at the earliest so that we can help build a better future for underprivileged children soon.
In the second phase we need to raise 126,000 US Dollars or 170,000 CAD Dollars per year to maintain the school including all overheads of the school. We need to make sure that the school remains a going concern and therefore we need to try and raise this amount by a multiple of 5 to be able to cover the expenses for five years. The challenge remains to try and raise the funds at the earliest so that we can help build a better future for underprivileged children soon.
